Buddha bowl


First of all.. .some of you might ask..”what pray tell is a buddha bowl?”  It is a bowl that is big enough to nestle in the palm of your hands.  That is the amount of food sufficient to fill your bell reasonably.

Second Q.  “what goes into a buddha bowl? ” pretty much anything you can fit into it!  Mainly a vegetarian philosophy, however you could add meat if so desired.

One of my favorites, received from yoga teacher Elena Brower

1 c. quinoa

2 c steamed kale or broccoli, spinach etc

protein of choice: tempeh, tofu, 1-2 eggs  or a really good cheese

1-2 Tble nutritional yeast

1t eden shake!

dressing your buddha bowl

miso dressing:

150ml favorite citrus

150 ml evoo

3-5 heaping T sweet brown rice or chick pea miso

whip it up and pour over buddha bowl… delish!!


you could do a thai version with a tahini, peanut sauce, what ever!!  Get creative.. have fun… be a buddha!
